National Day of Healing, 2023 Sorry Day

Our Arlington Campus students in Kindergarten and Primary School came together with staff to commemorate and remember.

We gathered together in the hall for Sorry Day, a national day of healing. We framed our Whole School Meeting with two pieces of music. The full links are provided here for you to enjoy:

Reunited – by Robert Taylor and Julian Farraretto
Performed by Robert Taylor, a Kaurna, Narungga and Ngarrindjeri man, accompanied by members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra

and

We Won’t Cry – by Archie Roach
Uncle Jack Charles Bunurong and Wiradjuri man, and a member of the Stolen Generations &
Archie Roach Gunditjmara and Bundjalung elder, and a member of the Stolen Generations.

Children then had time in their class groups to explore their understanding of the Stolen Generations and recognise the importance of understanding our shared history.
