Perfectly Presented Peppercorn Play

On Thursday of last week, the Peppercorns presented their end-of-year play, a long-standing tradition here at our Arlington Campus.

The play is often a series of small scenes devised by groups of children, and then woven together through a connecting storyline – this year the thread was a story of a group of children being transported into their television, and the changing of channels was how the play moved from scene to scene.

The play was devised and written by the children. Playmaking has endured because it encapsulates what we believe about the children’s voice, their right to be self-directed. It reflects our trust in their ideas, their attempts and their courage, and it celebrates their effort.

Playmaking is unique because at its heart is a focus on the children, their journey, and their considerable effort.
