PRESHIL WEEKLY
Hello Preshil community,
Welcome to another edition of the Weekly!
We hope you enjoy reading about the events that happened this week and what’s to come next!
Body Kind Week
This week at Preshil we celebrated Body Kind Week, a Butterfly Foundation initiative encouraging us all to be kinder in the way we move, nourish, and nurture our bodies and others. With support from Angelica Pupillo of This is Your Body, students enjoyed smoothie and bliss ball tastings, learned quick breakfast recipes, joined a Zumba class, swapped clothes and accessories to celebrate self-expression, and took part in activities exploring how the language we use about bodies—our own and others’—can make a difference.
These experiences helped challenge harmful myths and promote joyful, balanced approaches to food, movement, and body image. We invite you to continue these conversations at home by focusing on what our bodies can do rather than how they look, and by modelling kindness in the way we speak about ourselves. For further support, the Butterfly Foundation offers excellent resources and webinars for parents, as well as a national helpline available daily (8am–midnight): Butterfly resources.
Certificate II in Creative Industries
We are proud to announce that William has become the first student at Preshil to successfully complete the Certificate II in Creative Industries. This is a significant milestone both for William and for our growing VET (Vocational Education and Training) program now available at Preshil.
Throughout the course, William has demonstrated excellent technical skills, independence in learning, professionalism, and a high level of consistency in producing work that reflected his vocational aspirations in creativity, accounting and business studies. His achievement highlights the value of applied learning pathways and the opportunities they provide for students to explore real-world creative industries while still at school.
We congratulate William on this outstanding accomplishment.

IB & VCE Art Exhibition + Performance Evening
This week our senior artists filled the school with work that was creative, bold and brave, personal, uncompromising and entirely their own. Students took real risks: composing, performing, curating and speaking to ideas that matter to them.
Congratulations to every student who presented. We’re so proud of your courage and the care you showed one another. Thank you to our families, parents, guardians and carers for your trust and steady support; and to our educators, tech crew and staff who made the night sing.
Preshil T-Shirts
Preshil gear you’ll actually want to wear. T-shirts, hoodies and more that celebrate creativity, agency and our golden eagle—no uniform required. Built for school days, gigs, galleries and weekends. Wear it your way. Merchandise for originals, not conformity.

Adam Wallace Hatman Launch Show
We are delighted to announce a partnership with local children’s author Adam Wallace. He’s sold over 10 million books and published over 170 titles so he’s actually a superstar!
The launch show for Hatman, his unique middle grade chapter book graphic novel superhero action comedy musical, will be held in the Kevin Borland Hall at Arlington.
The show will be at 7pm on Friday 10th October, the end of the first week of Term 4. Tickets are $25 each or $80 for 4, available here and include a signed copy of Hatman.
Adam will also be visiting each of our classes to conduct a workshop on writing and illustrating, which promises to be another great opportunity for our students to learn from an absolute legend.
Learn more about the show here.

Building Resilience in Young People
This Tuesday the 9th September, Preshil is proud to host Dr Justin Coulson, Australia’s number one rated parenting speaker, for an evening on how to help young people not just cope, but grow stronger because of adversity.
This interactive session includes a Q&A and practical strategies you can use immediately—because resilience isn’t just about getting through, it’s about growing through.
