PRESHIL WEEKLY
Hello Preshil community,
Welcome to another edition of the Weekly!
I write this upon returning from a visit to the Kevin Borland Hall, where preparations are well underway for tonight’s Arlington Disco. This is a truly special event, entirely conceived and led by our children and generously supported by our wonderful parent community. We’re gearing up for what will be a joyful and memorable evening for all involved!
Campus Futures Updates
Following last week’s in-person Campus Futures Information Evening for our parent community, we are pleased to announce a second round of sessions, which will be held online. These sessions are designed for families who were unable to attend in person, and will cover our strategic direction and the next steps for our campuses. They’ll also provide space for questions and feedback.
As with the first round, these online sessions will be cohort-based, allowing us to tailor the content and ensure meaningful engagement with each group.
If you attended the first session, please note that the core content will be the same. The purpose of this second round is to ensure wider access across our community.
These will be the final sessions in our initial phase of engagement—following conversations we’ve now held with students, parents, and alumni. Later in November, we will begin the next stage: co-design conversations, where we’ll collaborate more deeply with the community to explore and shape our aspirational vision for learning spaces at Preshil.
We look forward to your continued involvement as we shape the future of our school, together.
Online Session Dates:
- 2026 Year K–6: Tuesday 11 November, 7-8pm – Meeting Link Here
- 2026 Year 7–10: Thursday 13 November, 7-8pm – Meeting Link Here
Warmly,
Aaron Mackinnon
Principal

Ready, Set, Disco!
The Arlington community is in full swing today, getting ready for this afternoon’s Disco!
The Kevin Borland Hall has been decorated and is ready for children to test out their moves under the shimmer of disco balls and fancy lights. Games, laughter and music will fill the halls through this celebration of creativity, rhythm and connection.
Preshil Music Tutor Tika Cetinich’s Upcoming Adele Tribute Show
We invite you to ‘To Be Loved – A Dedication to Adele’. A heartfelt tribute to one of the most iconic artists of our time featuring our very own music tutor, the powerhouse vocalist Tika.
Alongside expressive strings, rich harmonies and soulful piano, this moving live performance brings Adele’s greatest hits to life across two nights of connection, storytelling and soul.
We are so proud to have Tika among our cohort, sharing her vibrant, creative energy with both students and staff.

School TV’s Special Report on New Social Media Regulations
From 10 December 2025, new laws will restrict access to social media for young people under 16.
This change responds to growing concern about the impact of early social media use on children’s mental health, wellbeing and development.
While regulation is a positive step, true safety begins at home. Families play an essential role in helping children build confidence, resilience and awareness online.
These new laws provide an opportunity to talk openly about online experiences, review family technology habits and explore healthy, age-appropriate ways for young people to connect and express themselves.
This Special Report by School TV explains the new regulations and offers practical guidance to help families prepare.
Students are always welcome to reach out to Nat for support with this upcoming transition.
